We are seeking a tech savvy, highly motivated, articulate, team-oriented municipal administration law clerk to join our municipal law team. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of administration experience. Ideally, the candidate will have municipal experience but not required. Our municipal team handles complex municipal matters engaging our municipal, real estate and litigation teams.
The Ross Firm runs a paperless, cloud-based practice. Our team covers southwestern Ontario and beyond, including our six offices in Goderich, Stratford, Kincardine, Port Elgin, Owen Sound and Walkerton. The successful candidate will have proven client management skills, be detail oriented, have strong analytical and communication skills, an entrepreneurial attitude, and a love of technology and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the lawyers, clerks, and administrative professionals with carriage of each file.
- Effectively participate on the team to provide excellent service to clients.
- Communicate by telephone and e-mail with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and other parties as required
and or instructed. - Assist with drafting and preparing documentation for real estate closings, Subdivision Agreements, Drainage
Agreements, pleadings, Affidavits of Documents, and forms as instructed. - Arrange for service and filing of court forms.
- Operate seamlessly with technology and practice software, including, but not limited to Leap Legal, Asana,
Microsoft Office, and Adobe. - Maintain daily task list for all client files.
- Manage billing and Accounts Receivables for the Municipal Team.
- Perform all administrative tasks required for the Municipal Team.
- Manage scheduling for the Municipal Team.
- Any other tasks as assigned.
